The development of automotive molds is an important force in promoting the development of China's automotive industry. (1) The marketization of mold is one of the most important characteristics of the mold industry today. The buyers and manufacturers of mold are all over the world. The development of the mold industry has made mold processing enterprises with simple production processes and low precision move to relatively backward technology and low productivity. Developed mold manufacturing enterprises are positioned on the molds they produce. Mold manufacturing enterprises face the market competition. Some serialized software include surface/solid geometric modeling, complex shape engineering drawing, industrial design rendering, mold design expert system, complex shape CAM, art modeling and carving automatic programming system, reverse engineering system, and complex shape online measurement system; The 3D and paperless design, analysis, and manufacturing of molds enable the new generation of mold software to design molds with a three-dimensional and intuitive feeling. The 3D digital models used can be conveniently used for CAE analysis of product structures, evaluation of mold manufacturability, CNC machining, simulation of forming processes, and information management and sharing; Meanwhile, with the development of competition, cooperation, production, and management, as well as the advancement of computer software and hardware technology, the internet has made it possible to apply virtual design and agile manufacturing techniques in the mold industry. (3) With the development of molds towards standardization and large-scale production, the combination of ultra precision machining technology with processing accuracy exceeding 1 μ m and technologies such as current collection, chemistry, ultrasound, and laser will have broad prospects in future mold manufacturing. Most workpieces processed at high speed have very smooth surfaces and do not require further machining by fitters. (4) With various developments, automatic mold processing systems have emerged, which are composed of multiple machine tools combined in a reasonable manner, equipped with accompanying positioning fixtures or positioning disks, complete tool and tool CNC libraries, and CNC flexible synchronization systems, with real-time quality monitoring and control systems. The development of automotive panel molds is focused on high technical requirements for large and medium-sized panel molds, especially for exterior panel molds. Stamping parts of plates and uneven thick plates; Molds, large multi station progressive dies, and continuous dies will have rapid development in the future. The development of multifunctional and multi station progressive dies is similar to that of large and long-life progressive dies. The development of precision stamping dies is focused on thick plate precision stamping dies and continuously improving their accuracy. (5) In order to improve the service life of stamping parts molds, various superhard treatment technologies on the mold surface have also been developed. To form solutions for digital manufacturing of molds, system integration, reverse engineering, prototype film manufacturing, and computer-aided application technology, provide mold and engineering services, improve enterprise level and mold quality, which is particularly important for the development of stamping mold technology. The CAD/CAM technology for die-casting molds can significantly shorten the mold design and manufacturing cycle, reduce production costs, and improve product quality. The combination of prototype (FOP) and traditional economic molds is used to manufacture large automotive panel molds, which solves the problems of low melting point alloy molds relying on sample casting molds, low mold accuracy, and difficult sample manufacturing. It realizes mold manufacturing based on 3D CAD models and improves the accuracy of the parts.
